The Head of Social Media role is to support and progress the Social Media team constantly offering a service that is best in class. This involves overviewing all aspects of the service making improvements wherever possible alongside managing a select few clients.
Working closely with clients on social media strategy, helping clients understand how social can be part of their marketing mix and how it can sit alongside wider digital campaigns.
Located in both Newcastle and Teesside sits a collaborative social media team who are in need of a new leader - someone who can grow the function and deliver cutting-edge social strategies for our clients.

What you’ll be doing:
Main duties & responsibilities include:
- Management of staff and continued staff development
- Constantly strive to improve and maintain processes and procedure documents
- Be the go to within the agency for all things social
- Identify and execute internal training
- Maintain and increase efficiency across the Social Media team
- Develop the service offering to maintain best in class standard
- Responsible for commercial growth of the department
- Identify sales opportunities
- Handle and prepare sales documentation and sales pitches
- Lead, speak and engage at external events and conferences
- Maintain expert knowledge at the forefront of Social Media. Stay up to date with emerging tech and trends
- Overall responsibility for social client retention
- Maintain and update Social Media sales documentation

The ability to lead a team and influence others within the business is essential, using technology and industry leading practices.
The Head of Social Media will be expected to be experienced in the following:
5+ years' experience either agency or client side
Extensive experience of campaign management
Solid expertise in social media platforms and tools, analytics, forecasting and measurement
Experience in building and executing social media strategies, whether in-house or for clients
Strong background in paid social models and execution
Expert in Facebook Ads interface & campaign set up with a DR focus
Management of a specialist team with the ability to lead
Working to tight deadlines as a team and as an individual
Client-facing experience at a senior level
Client meetings and strategy presentations
Confident in both written and spoken communication with the ability to present to, and engage, audiences
Good organisation skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Be able to work as part of a team as well as using own initiative
‘Self-motivated’ with an ability to demonstrate a can-do approach
It will also be desired for the successful Candidate to have:
Experience in ecommerce
Experience in other digital media channels
Google Data Studio
Google Tag Manager
